Special Issue Call: Project-, Problem-, Play-, and Inquiry-Based Learning in Practice

2026-09-02

The Journal of Technology-Integrated Lessons and Teaching will publish a special issue regarding Problem-, Project-, Play, and inquiry-based learning (collectively referred to as inquiry) in June 2027. For purposes of this issue, inquiry is defined as a student-centered instructional approach situated in a realistic setting (though possibly fictional or simplified) where students take an active role in iterative learning processes. These processes typically include problem identification and goal setting; research or inquiry, data collection, and analysis; prototyping solutions; evaluating prototypes; communicating and reflecting findings; or other forms of exploratory learning. For consideration in JTILT, all learning representations must be technology-rich and have been previously implemented. Manuscripts for this special issue are due January 31, 2027.
