Abstract

Thoracic and abdominal movements associated with production of the alarm trill of the Uinta Squirrel (Citellus armatus) were followed by impedence pneumography. The alarm is a trill approximately 22 pulses per second, apparently resulting from synchromesh pulsation of the thorax. Interpretation of respiration flow patterns will be continued by means of whole-body plethysmography. Project Number 161.
