About the Journal

The University of Wyoming-National Park Service (UW-NPS) Research Station is a cooperative effort between the University of Wyoming and the National Park Service. Headquartered on the University of Wyoming campus in Laramie, the research station was established to foster research in National Parks in the Rocky Mountain Region. In addition, UW-NPS operates a field research station at the AMK Ranch in Grand Teton National Park which is open from mid-May through the end of September.

The primary function of UW-NPS is to promote excellence in research by furnishing housing, laboratory space, transportation, equipment and financial support to enable investigators in the biological, physical and social sciences to access the rich and diverse environments of Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, Bridger-Teton and Targhee National Forest and the Gros Ventre and Teton Wilderness Areas. The UW-NPS Annual Reports are annual publications reporting on the research conducted at the UW-NPS Research Station. Prior to1977, the name of the journal had different titles. These old issues can be found under Jackson Hole Research Station. These reports summarize the research and associated activities conducted at and through the Station. The work to bring these annual reports online has been funded and supported by the University of Wyoming Libraries.
