Abstract

The study of sagebrush types has now been extended throughout the West. Eighteen types have been distinguished. Seven of these occur in Jackson Hole. These types are controlled primarily by climate and adhere strictly to elevational zones. Within these zones ecotypes are further limited edaphically. They differ agronomically in their response to such factors as grazing, burning, moisture and light. Project Number 64.
