Abstract

Cyphoderris is a primitive orthoptera genus, a relict of the family Haglidae. This family is known almost exclusively from fossil remains (Sharov, 1968). Only one other recent genus exists, Prophalangopsis, based upon a single specimen collected in Asia before the turn of the century (Zeune, 1939).
